In recent weeks the dedicated members of the sound team have been working on noises that if done right should slip past the ears. That is, until they’re not there. The footsteps people make, the howling of wind and the bustling chatter of communities. These invisible yet invaluable elements are sure to make the game feel more whole!
Hello and welcome to this week’s Dev Journal! My name is Josh Goodwin and I’m the Music Lead on Eden Falling... Today we are showcasing some of the music that will set the tone as you explore the world, so turn up those speakers and I’ll give you a glimpse into the wilderness of the Afterfall.
The level design team has been hard at work building some new and intriguing places for you to find and explore. Some of the latest levels we’ve been tackling are fuel cell depots where you can find some old world technology. Here is a sneak peek at a department store location created by one of our team members.
The coding team has been working hard on a few things with focus on the character creator and a couple other core features to the game. The character creator currently allows for great customization of the character when you start the game. This includes nearly every feature of the face but in a streamlined simpler way, without use of 100s of sliders.

Lately my team has been working on fleshing out some of the in-game systems, such as the disease system, the achievement system, and the skill system.
Well the concept team is still hard at work creating ideas for various aspects of the game. It’s often times very challenging being the first team to make the ideas that will appear in the game real. It starts with his as far as visualization goes. But, this is indeed a challenge the concept team relishes and enjoys.
Hard Surface team here again with some brand new weapons and a vehicle overhaul. We’ve got plenty of vehicles that will suit anyone’s needs. Small, Sleek and fast to Large, Tanky and Slow. Even some vehicles used before the meteor struck the earth.
